A great & much needed asset for the community!

VERY EXCITING NEWS today for the Edgemere-Sparrows Point area with the announcement of the new SPARROWS POINT PARK PROJECT co-located at Tradepoint Atlantic!   The project will consist of:


*16,000 square foot community center with double court gym, two-community-accessible activity rooms and concessions area

*Full-sized synthetic turf field with LED lighting

*10,000 square foot playground

*ADA accessible fishing pier and kayak launch

*Scenic walking path 

*LEED Platinum Certified (Extremely energy efficient)

This project will be a big boost to alleviating the logistical challenges of limited indoor and outdoor athletic space in our community that we have encountered over the past many years.  It also provides us a very bright future in terms of the quality and quantity of programs we can offer our Southeast area families.     

The county is going to host a Community input meeting on Monday, February 22nd at 7pm to ensure the project best meets the needs of the communities and to share additional details for the project to seek community feedback on the proposal as well.  Here are the details:
